Okay, it seems that Commonwealth was denied for the US Hague accreditation and that Taiwan is a NON-Hague country.

So Taiwan had nothing to do with Commonwealth closing their doors. If we choose to stick with international adoption the key is to make sure the agency has been approved for the US Hague accreditation...just to be safe. Apparently this law came into effect April, 2008.

Yep... if you choose to stick with international adoption keep in mind that a lot of agencies are probably running into a problem with their adoptions.
Commonwealth dropped the ball, but another agency may not. The question is, do you have the time, money and patience to wait it out for God knows how long?
There's always domestic...wait times (from what I'm hearing) are anywhere from 24 hours- 10 months (typically). Might want to look into it. And let me also suggest that if you go that route...you may want to just do it privately (agencies typically charge a great deal...but not all agencies)...shop around!
Take care,

Gina,
Believe me, we will definitely do our homework this time. We have learned not to jump into it so quickly. Thanks for the support and encouragement. And good luck to you as well!
